Ivy!

We are happy to announce the birth of our second daughter, Ivy Jane Pratt. She was born on Sunday (April 29th) at 3:48 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 inches long. Both she and mom are healthy. So far she is a great sleeper, hopefully that won't change! Here are a few of our favorite pictures so far:

Abby's 2nd Birthday - Part I : Teddy Bear Picnic

Today we threw a party to celebrate Abby's upcoming 2nd birthday. Katherine did a great job planning the party, and Abby had a blast. It was just a small party. Aunt Mandy and Aunt Hollie were able to make it, as well as great-grandma Nila and great-grandma and grandpa Moss. The theme was "Teddy Bears Picnic." Here are some highlights from the picnic we had in our "back yard."

More pictures from her party will be coming soon...

Happy 26!

I had my 26th birthday this year.  It got up to 60+ degrees and Abby and I had a great time going to the park.  Landon came home early and we went to dinner at Guru's (one of my favorites).  In the days leading up to my birthday we asked Abby what she wanted to do for it.  Her answer was always "tuptates" (cupcakes).  We couldn't disappoint her, so we got a few from a cupcake cafe that is by our house.  Abby thoroughly enjoyed the pink frosting.

It was a great day!

I'm Pregnant!

Apparently I haven't said anything on here about how we are expecting another baby!  I think most of the people who read this already know, so I guess it is okay, but I want to share some facts about the pregnancy so I have them documented in at least one place before I forget it all.  Feel free to read any of the info or you can just skip to the pictures.

I found out I was pregnant the very beginning of September.  I took Abby to the store to get a pregnancy test.  I felt a little silly because it was only the first day of my "cycle."  I kept thinking I should just wait a few days, but I'm so predictable and deep down I think I already knew that I was in fact pregnant.  Sure enough, the first test I tried was positive! I took some pictures of Abby and used them to write a story for Dad (Landon) to tell him the news.  We calculated that my due date would be around May 12 (Mike and Emily's anniversary!).

My first trimester was really good.  I was tired, of course, and had to eat frequently throughout the day, but I think overall I threw up fewer times than with Abby.  The nice thing about it was that I hardly ever have morning appointments and Abby doesn't wake up early.  With Abby I was waking up super early most days to do training with clients or subjects from my study.  I think it really helped me to wake up slow and just take the mornings easy.

The second trimester was also great.  I love the burst of energy I get during those weeks.  I did start showing earlier, which was to be expected.  We had our ultrasound appointment in January right after returning from our Christmas vacation to Florida.  The baby was moving around quite a bit and we had no trouble at all to see that she was a girl!  We both thought it was a girl and were so excited to find out Abby would have a little sister.

My third trimester has been good overall, I really can't complain because I haven't had any serious  complications.  I do feel like I started feeling tired and sore by the end of the day (back and hips) earlier than with my first pregnancy.  Apparently, running after a toddler is more physically taxing than working and going to school as a graduate student...   It has helped to not carry Abby as much as I normally would.  I also just got over a cold that was just horrible.  It lasted almost two weeks- stuffy nose, sinus pressure, fever, hot/cold flashes, headaches, etc.  Note to self: do not get a cold during the third trimester in future pregnancies!  Luckily my parents were here visiting during the worst part and helped out with Abby a lot during the day.  Baby sister moves all the time and I have Braxton Hicks contractions all the time.  We are getting excited that we are getting close, but really aren't anxious for her to come yet.  I think her due date sounds like a great day for her to come!  We are hoping her birth will be less stressful than Abby's, but we have faith that even if we do have complications that everything will be okay.

Here are some current pictures of me that Landon took the other day.  I am 35 weeks and large!
